Just came back from my first visit to a schutzhund club. It was really fasinating watching them work everything from pups to SCH 111. There were 20-25 people there, some older than me , and they all seemed to be really nice, helpful people. All helped answer my nieve, and sometimes stupid questions. The TD was very helpful when he could but he was working with an intraining helper most of the night. Not knowing what I was looking at or hearing, I was very impressed by the TD. A lot of the little "simple" tips he was giving the helper in training, made sense to me. The TD stressed to me more than once, the key to doing well is getting the right dog. Some there thought I was crazy to wait three years for a dog. The older folks , like myself, thought it made good sense to learn what I was doing first, especilly when I told them I wanted to wait till I could put a serious effort and time in the dog. Anyway, I had a blast!
