The DVG website states that new rules are anticipated by Jan. 1, 2004. Doesn't say whether they will be IPO rules. I just e-mailed Carole Paterson to clarify. Will let you know when I receive the reply.
No one is counting anything--just making inquiries. Is it OK? As far as your bet is concerned, you may very well be right. Still doesn't hurt to ask... the rumors have been flying for a long time.
Keep in mind that the AZG is the same German organization that told all the German breed club and German dogsport organizations a couple of years ago that they had to change the name of schutzhund to VPG. The DVG went along with this, along with a number of others. But the SV told the AZG to take a hike, and kept the name schutzhund.
I wonder what the SV plans to do regarding this rules change that's being imposed by the AZG?
