how do you know when the collar is too tight.right now the colar is slighting digging in to the skin. but if I remove a link the collar slids dowl a little. Am I between links?Add one its too big remove one its too small. I have it on smaller now
Cameron, the rule of thumb (or is it the rule of forefinger?) is that you should be able to squeeze the tip of your forefinger between the skin and the tip of the link. It is still considered snug. Are you using a collar with large-sized links? In my experience medium-size links work better. They are easier to adjust for size and give you more contact area, so you won't need to correct as hard, yet they should be strong enough for your breed.
