Thanks alot for your extremely good info. I have been training with my very distractable bitch for 18 mos. with a trainer who is very experienced, but is also ,unfortunately, very ill.(I took several mos. off during that time due to complications with my pregnancy, so I feel that my dog had a big setback subsequently!)
I asked him and he suggested that I try getting some experience first by doing a match show.He said they don't count towards any titles, but are great experience.I am going to forward a $26. check to: Myrna Lieber,P.O. box 214,Massapequa N.Y.11758........this will give me a one year subscription to the Match Show Bulletin.
Thank you again for your great info!
No one ever said life was supposed to be easy, life is what you make of it!!
Hope you have a great time with your dog. Setbacks do happen, but you'll be suprised at how much your dog has retained!
Fun matches are a great way to proof your dog to the atmosphere of a show and crowds. And you will gain valuable experience this way. The judges at a fun match will often offer advice and tips to the competitors. You will be so much more prepared when you do actually compete with your dog. It is a wonderful bonding experience!
Best of luck!
