Oops - sorry Chuck didn't mean to get off topic. Maybe someone could point out the training topic in this tread to me because I'm missing it. Must be one of those training topics that are over my head. (No wise cracks about that!)
Jeannette, realgsd.net and realgsd.info are the same. All of the old forum discussions are still there - go re-read them I think you'll find that you're wrong.
The thread was opened under competition obedience....so if a discussion was to take place about Fred Lanting's training methods for competition or methods in general then that's keeping it training related. I just didn't want the thread to just be an argument over what role he plays on another board.
Sorry if I came across rough.
As far as training issues go, if you feel that you have something valuable to say why not try turning it into an article? It's always good to have as many view points as possible and if you want to email me the article I can assure you that it will be seriously considered for posting on the RealGSD site .

OK, well perhaps I had it wrong. I had that impression based on correspondences I had w/ Fred Lanting directly when I was first starting to try and learn about GSD's. ( sorry Chuck,I felt the need to clarify, and take ownership of a mistake)
No one ever said life was supposed to be easy, life is what you make of it!!

I thought you wanted to remain anonymous, but you are a straight shooter. I respect your views and personal opinion on this pioneer.

I also like your candid impression of this pioneer and you came out with the same impression of him as I did. Though he maybe a dreamer the Total GSD is a good thought, dream or idea. Maybe not likely but a good thought. I also respect your opinion.
Vancamp, I'm familar with his views somewhat, as familar as you can be with a crazy like that, brillant man behind all that makeup. And I think I know what he means, with his respectful analogy.
I'm not that familar with the others except for Ms. Woods and and like all only from what she has posted on this board. So I'm vaugely familar with the people mentioned, ideas.
Like everybody that makes history at any level, some people will like you, some people will not. But its what you stood for that will last through the age of time. Hopefuly nobodies toes were step on, when the truth is sought out.

Here's a guy who's been in GSDs since '66 supposedly, and yet he doesn't know the order of the exercises when he trials, the judge has to tell him what to do next?
Don write: I got idea that he was a Pieoneer from you, anybody thats been in the a field for 35 plus yrs, I'd consider an old timer, good, bad or indfferent. I just recently heard of the man, I'm trying to take in the total picture.
Being around a long time in this field and work with or around these people. A trainer like yourself, that is in the know, understands and knows whats for real and proper. Having a foundation in this field and having witness what is unreal and improper, you see the cream rise to the top. And vice versa maybe things happen for the right reason. And I agree with you, though I'm not snowed. Forming an opinion based on a distance general preceived thought is not wise.
I guess sometimes you can know a person too, well.
huh?
