In every case I strongly recommend the book Purely Positive Training Companion to Competition by Sheila Booth. I cannot stress strong enough how good a job Sheila did in capturing the essence of dog training. She not only packed tons of important information into this book but also made it interesting and fun to read. And I do not only recommend this book to newcomers I had many years on SchH experience under my belt before reading this book and it changed the way I looked at training forever. It is a small investment that you can pick up right here and I guarantee that you will be pleased.

I like the way she explained how dogs learn and associate places, body language, breathing, etc with commands. Plus it's all positive. I still have my book.
