I've heard this nasty little rumor about AKC as well, and I mailed AKC to get some information. They replied with a WTF are you talking about answer and directed me that the AKC already has available "working" titles and a list of local contact people that I could phone for more details.
I mailed them a photocopy of my middle finger cut out and pasted to a photocopy of my butt. I hope they get the intended meaning.
Maybe the person lied, or just didn't know about it, but they didn't even say maybe.
BH for breeding now? Oh. . .yea. . .that'll be good!
One step up from the AKC still doesn't get you to the second floor. It doesn't even get you to the third step, the SV. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
How about peeing on the rest of those monkeys and moving forward with a new system, one that will ensure the use of the GSD as the top service dog, top working dog, and top sport dog in the world? I know this old dead guy that just might dig it.
Hell, I'd be happy with a GSD ZTP that included a little better protection/nerve test and an environmental sureness test.
A Schutzhund title is a lot of work and really isn't necessarily a reasonable breeding requirement in this country. (we don't have enough clubs, trainers, or people involved) A basic ZTP administered at every Schutzhund trial along with the BH, or even in place of it, would go a long way. Something that is easy to train for, but still gives a good representation of the animal's ability and nerve.
There you go dreaming again VanCamp. . .
