Thanks guys. I'm looking at a book by John Cree. I haven't bought it yet. It seems interesting because it's just the behavior stuff. I just haven't heard too much info. When I read a book about breeds it's usually maintenance and show stuff.
The 1925 Edition is a rare one. Expect to pay upwards of $600 if you find a copy. Rare book dealers may be your best bet for that edition. You can post a request on Amazon.com to see if one shakes loose.
On the other hand, you can get a reprint for $60-80. There were recent 1982 and a 1995 reprints. Last month, I purchased the 1982 reprint on EBay for about $60. An interesting book but it is very densely written. Lots of photos of old-time Shepherds. Interestingly enough, many of the old Shepherds look a lot like today's Malinois.
For easy to read and understand, Ivan Bs book is good...even though the title is "advanced" it is really pretty basic.
About 8 or 9 years ago, I picked up a 1950 von Stephenvitz on one of those weekend craft show with stands in the hallways at a mall...a used book kiosk...it had a couple of yellow highlighter marks...about 3...and the guy sold it to me for 10 bucks!!!! I didn't realize what it was at the time, and almost didn't buy it! Glad I did now.
