Hi All.
My new pup was hopefully born last week (gotta call Eckhart this afternoon and find out). This is my first excursion into protection training and I'm looking for opinions on essential equipment that I should have around for Yogi's arrival. Any and all advice appreciated. Thanks.
Peace, out.

1st and foremost......two of Ed's vids. Puppy bite training and Building drive and focus with Bernhard Flinks. On these two, you will be provided with a list of the essentials. Careful of those selling tricks and gimmicks that one " just can't do without". Good luck with your new friend, even if it is a Rottie. (Shoot back, I can take it!)

Thanks for the reply. I've been trying to choose videos. I'm just not sure which ones I need right away and which I can wait for. Can't order too many at once as just a poor 1st year law student. ;-) I'm pretty set on the two you mentioned; any others that have good info for pups? I was thinking about "The First Steps of Defense" and "Protection Training: The Beginning" as well. Are those needed now or can they wait for later? I should mention that I already have Ed's puppy video and that since this isn't my 1st dog I already have a crate, etc. I'm looking for advice on what I need for my pup that specifically relates to raising him for protection work. Hey, if those videos will work on gsds they should do real magic when paired with the supreme intellect of the big black dog!
Peace, out.

I'm embarrassed to say that I do not own as many of Ed's vid's as I should / would like to. If you take the time to e-mail privately, he will tell you what is good to get and when, from the vid and equipment point of view. After all, nobody knows the content of the vids like Ed does. I can tell you from personal experience, although in the vid / DVD business to make money, he will not recomend anything more than you need. He will guide you with the priority of your purchases as well. You are not in law school to become a personal injury or defense lawyer are you? I'll have to form a posse if that's the case.

Thanks again for the reply. I'll contact Ed directly this week. Good news! There was a message from Eckhart on my machine friday saying that my pup has entered the world. I can't wait! No trooper, I'm not studying to be a defense or injury lawyer. In fact I'm looking to maybe go the opposite way and do combat with those types. Thanks again.
Peace, out.
