Joy, I was thinking airline kennel or wire crate. They can be escaped from, and though it hasn't happened to me, I have heard many stories of dogs bloodying themselves in the process.
The type of crate that Ed sells looks pretty bomb proof, though.

Have you considered a hot wired fence?Tiggy had recommended one to me, and I thought it sounded like a good idea. She uses them to keep HUSKIES IN. And we all know that huskies are escape artists too. Try one hot wire at the bottom and one at the top. This way you don't have to worry about the collar, you don't need one!
You already lost one dog, I would be very careful here that you curb this behaviour ASAP so that it doesn't become 2........ <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
No one ever said life was supposed to be easy, life is what you make of it!!
Hard to believe the hot wire worked w/*any* dog reliably, must be some especially sensitive Sibes.
No way would I suggest relying on electric fence to confine a dog safely. Nor will it keep out other dogs or other predators (well, we live in coyote country, so it's a concern).
The only use of electric fence that makes sense to me is to secure an area of your already securely fenced yard, ie your garden or some area you want the dog to stay clear of. But to trust your dog's life to it? Not a chance.
She already tried hotwire anyway. I think the only thing that is going to hold this dog is going to be one of those Priefert kennels Joy keeps mentioning. Go to their website and check it out. Hard to imagine a dog getting out of one of those. She'll probably have to put it on concrete to keep Una from digging out.
Yes, we have ours all set on the patio, which is concrete and well covered, so it works out really well. The kennels are too heavy to budge even if a determined pooch whacks at them.
The closest comparison I could make to describe this stuff would be that it's similar to a smoother, heavier gauge than wrought iron.
Our Houdini pup took one look around the first time we put him in it, flopped down and sighed. He knew we'd finally won. He's funny, he was never sneaky about escaping, did it right in front of us, seemed to think it was an oversight on our part.
Also, for this dog, you probably want to purchase a roof, we did for Houdini baby but not the others.
