I agree with the Col. We have alot of breeders out there whos knowledge comes from the internet. Many of these same breeders have never set foot on a field, much less titled a dog. I think a breeder needs to get out and work dogs. There seems to be more people breeding Czech dogs. Ask your breeder when you buy your next puppy, Have you ever titled a dog? Do you belong to a working club and actively train your puppies from your breedings? Beware of the breeders who breed 4 or 5 litters a year and don't work their dogs or belong to a working club. I always wonder why some people import 5 or 6 great dogs, but then don't work them. It seems they just import them to the US and breed many litters and talk the talk. Where will they be in 5 years? Where will the Czech working dog be in 5 years?
Ummm...never been to Western Australia and I live about 5000 kms away, never set foot in a court, none of my dogs have had a live bite, can't do SchH as there is no club in my State, I slam the GSD club of S.A. cos they have ruined the breed and run ads in the newspaper saying they do not support SchH and tell Gov. Ministers that they believe it should be banned, I have imported 5 Czech German Shepherds myself at great cost to myself and in 2 years have had ONE litter. I am about $40,000 in the red with them. What have you done to improve the breed? I guess you just rely on everyone else to put the money up and then get upset when people wont sell pups with full reg so you can breed up in your backyard. It's quite obvious you don't know me or anything about me. Now anything else I can do to help educate you?
I will be at the Nationals this year I hope you are as well, we might "catch up".
We will find out just how much the truth hurts you then.
My comment is aimed more to the breeders here in the US. I don't know the state of the working shepherd in Austrialia. I believe if a breeder is going to advertise puppies as working dogs then they need to have some knowledge of what a working dog is. They can get this knowledge by working the parents or belonging to a working club. I feel it is wrong to sell puppies and tell the public these dogs will do schutzhund etc, when they don't have any idea what they are talking about. Sorry to get off the subject, but I feel very strong about this and want to see the Czech dogs stay strong as a working Shepherd. We don't need breeders advertising Czech shepherds to make a fast buck.
Off topic guys... if you want to complain or discuss breeders that don't work their dogs do it in another thread. If anyone has more to say about the PS kennel, open a new thread. This one is closed.
