I have been thinking of breeding my Troll von der nachbarschaft granddaughter to a strong czech male. She is a nice strong female that we hope to produce some pups for security work. She has troll on the fathers side and is hungarian and german lines on the mothers side. I have been looking at Dar and wondering if the lines would work together and what would be produced. I would then keep a pick female to breed to my male that is DDR lines. But thats way down the road. In theory, what would I get with Dar and my troll line female. What would they produce.
I am new to the czech lines and I like the strong working ablity of the lines and the larger bone structure.
David,
Actually, I haven't seen that the Czech lines throw substantial bone ( of course, I am not a conformation type guy, so I may be totally wrong here ). I remember the old DDR lines throwing dogs with massive bone, and they were imported to the U.S. at a time when that was very welcomed - many thought that the East German dogs would be the salvation of the GSD's, at least for a while.
But I've seen a lot of good Czech dogs ( including Dar ) and most have been strictly mid-sized dogs. Nothing wrong with that, it's the breed standard for the GSD, and the SV has actually sent out warning letters to the parent clubs discussing that the GSD was getting too large.
You gotta love the Czech lines for their awesome work ethic though..
Good luck on your eventual breeding!
Large bone for me is 80 to 90 pounds. Anything bigger than that is to hard to work. I like my sheps around 80 pounds. makes me feel bigger. lol. I am a fat man.

hey will, what title did fetz get? if you have a chance, could you pm me the pedigree of this breeding?
