Kevin, is that to say that there are not many or any DDR dogs left; are the lines washed since the wall came down? I have know knowledge of the DDR or Czech lines and desperatelty want to learn more. Ed had a Huas Himlple bitch some years ago, any idea why he did not continue with that line? What I did learn about DDR dogs was the breed survey rating system and thought it was a great method. Numerical evaluations are far less subjective, enter the whole 90 points for the routine and 10 points for intentions in the protection phase of Sch.

Then DDR dogs kinda went south with the wall, although there are a limited number of lines left in CZ and a few in germany. After the SV published their hip production ratings a number of years back they pretty much lost favor.
Of the ones I liked (huas Himple being one kennel) there are few left producing now.
I had a Pushkas Haus Himple son a number of years ago that I wish was still sleeping in my living room. Although I've had better working dogs I've never had a better working companion. He was one of the few dogs that I have been terribly attached too.
