Actually Don I didn't pay a whole lot for my car, aka the "dog mobile" as my wife like to call it. My one dog is a rescued American GSD (sweet but non-working) and the other I paid $1K for as a puppy. The car is insured and can be replaced. My dogs cannot be replaced.
John I just got a mental image of you three (you the Pit bull and Am Bull dog) walking down the street, must look like a Muscle man convention. Do they wear the muscle shirts too? Who would cross you three? They must be drunks.
Do we pick our dogs by the quailties, we most admire?
Russle Does the Am GSD try to protect the vehicle or you? And when he does how do you shut him down.
Whats kind of dog is the other one?

I like that, reverse psychology for dogs.
And who said that a jocks can't be smart, keep up the good work. You may change our image.
I actually learned that technique from an article on getting your dog to stop barking at the door, and adapted it.
Also, I know an ex-police officer who said a fellow police officer trained his K-9 to shake his head and regrip with the command "get off him".
When you own a pit bull, and a dog that 99% of people think is a pitbull (mothers have seen "homeward bound" they seem to be the only people who know an Am-Bull) and you dont live in the greatest area, you want to praise their protective instincts, well in the right situations anyways, but the public is not going to accept it, so you make it obvious to the dog, and fool the public.
But in all honesty, if my am-bull were to pull really hard towards someone, wiggling and just wanting to lick their faces off, most people are scared for their lives, because pit bulls have such a bad rep.
BTW, I in no way condone police officers allowing their dogs to maul suspects. It probably took place 20 years ago, though.
