Love the doggie dooley, strangest thing how it works, you can make one yourself, all you do is dig a hole 2X2X2 deeper if you have more then one dog, brace the sides, put a lid on it, you have to put 5 gal. of water in the hole twice a week and one of those times use one tablespoon of waste terminator, I do the water thing 3 times and it works great. You can PM me if you have any questions.

I noticed that alot of people are mentioning tossing the dog doo into a compost heap,I am curious if this is just for a way to eliminate it biodegradably(is this a word??).
The reason I ask is that my understanding is that one should NEVER put dog waste in a compost pile that will be used for gardening as it is unsanitary.Unlike cow and horse manure, dog and cat stoll is supposed to have bad germs that can wind up contaminating a garden....anyone else ever heard anything like this??
No one ever said life was supposed to be easy, life is what you make of it!!
I'll risk a really gross question - I have a multiple dog household, I pick up twice a day. It has been a very hot summer here, and we have garbage collection once a week, do you not get maggots?
Laureen. I pick up once a day. As for maggots I have never seen any, but then I don't dig inside of the recyled kibble bag. I have a few times been away from home and hadn't picked up for a few days. No maggots seen in the yard. Wish I could have been more helpful.
On dog cooler beds. Used to have the crystal kind that you soaked in water. It was cumbersome at best. Had to make it a cover as the material it was made out of tended to rot. And you dog DOES get wet, even though it said they wouldn't. I now have the foam filled water beds I got off E-bay. My dogs love them. I put one in the crate when going to training. Friends Rottie won't get on them. But my dogs are used to a foam filled human water bed. I find my young GSD sleeping on it all the time. When she's not on my pillow LOL> CH

I had bought my dog one of the Canine Cooler beds. He loved it! Unfortunately, he was still in his chewing on everything phase, and it wasn't long after we bought it that he bit a tiny hole in it. I woke up one morning and he was staring at me with the saddest puppy dog eyes. I didn't know what was wrong until I walked over and found that there was water all over the floor. The dog was pretty upset about ruining his bed. Maybe he'll get another one for his birthday if he's good.
Thanks Butch. I get a whack of them by the time garbage day arrives and I pull the bag out of the covered bin. I wonder if maybe it is from my dog with EPI, she's doing great and is on meds, but she is rather pungent.
Composting formula is 1 part nitrogen (grass clippings, green vegies, etc. 14 parts carbon (fall leaves, straw, etc). All the gardening books recommend against dog or cat waste and no fats, bones, meats. They draw rats. The dog and cat waste has to many pathogens, although a hot working compost pile gets 160f and that kills most weed seeds and pathogens. Internet probably has gobs of info. Definately the Library. Congrats to VanCamp on 1000.
