I'm with Karmen. A board of this caliber is done a disservice when its members allow it to become mundane. I'm all for a little off topic fun every now and again, so I like the idea of a part of the forum just for that. However, if this section cannot maintain the dignity of the forum itself, then it's probably for the best if it goes bye bye.
I'll weigh in here too (not that this is unusual <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ).
I'm a meteorologist and I love to talk about weather... and don't even get me started on tornadoes. But be all that as it may--I don't come to the Leerburg web board to talk about the weather, even if some of you are weather nuts too.
I come here to discuss DOGS and DOG TRAINING. Because this is THE PLACE to be. I'd sure like to keep it that way.
Gosh..I didn't realize that being concerned for the safety of dogs who are vulnerably compromised by hornets within and/or under a riding mower that sits between a wall and a kennel is not dog related. Unfortunately; several of the dogs including myself (I spent the evening at the emergency clinic)have now been stung by those monsters in attempts to "spray" in areas that are too close for comfort level.
I thank those who PM and will try your suggestions.
Sorry that I posted; it was not a deliberate intention to stray from appropriate topics.
Barbra, Your post was most welcomed. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I don't think anyone thought that your post should not have been in it's topic.
This is what I think the General Discussion thread should be comprised of.
Ladie's I agree 100% with the two of you.
Off topic: lost 15#'s 14 days. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
Deanna, is that a termm you learned from one of ED's tapes. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> atta boy Butch!
Thanks, it's easier then I would have thought.
I agree with Cindy and others. Your thread was fine and very dog related. Sometimes in the general conversation forum its not the first post but some of the ones that follow that seem to stray way off topic and get out of hand. Like I said in that thread...I think that you should get a pro in there to get rid of them if you do not feel reasonably safe enough to get rid of them yourself. A good subject nevertheless.
I think we have hit the nail on the head. keep the general discussion forum dog-related unless Ed says otherwise. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
