Well, considering they will register ANYTHING... and I mean anything, I don't find them overly legit. One of my old neighbors had a Chiuapoo that was "registered" with them... I had a hell of a time explaining to him that he just paid 450 for a MUTT with a piece of paper that didn't mean squat...
If you are in the puppy mill business the CKC(not to be confused with the canadians) is your bag baby!
I had a dog breeder that tried to sell me a GSD puppy, she was about 1 yr old. He advertised for one price but wanted another when I got there.
He said that her dad was a patrol dog in Dallas, had a picture of him. And showed me papers that she was regristred in the AKC and CKC, stating that he had all his dogs registered through the CKC organization. Though this was a nice looking GSD puppy, I thought this CKC regristry to be odd, And I didn't beleive his story, about her Sire. She was staked out by her self, and seemed socailized.
He had a puppy mill extradinoaire, with about 30 dogs of various breeds, 15 pit bulls, 5 of which were his new breed a Mini Pit bull. 6 GSD one of females didn't even look full bloodied. 4 AKC/CKC Rottiweilers 2 with puppies, a couple Jack Russles and Chiuahuas (the mexican toy dog/Taco bell).
He stated that the CKC, helped in that you can sell registered dogs for more money and its far less expensive then the AKC.
I could print out a certicate on my computer that would be worth more than registration with the Continential Kennel Club.
Regarding the intials CKC - did the Canadian Kennel club ever win the right to be sole holder to those initials. I heard they were going to court for it or something along those lines?
I knew I made a mistake minutes after I posted it but a important phone call came through and I guess you read this before I edited. Right after I took care of a job related problem. Thanks but I was in the mist of more serious matter. No room for typos, huh. I'm sure there are plenty of acronyms for "CDC".
Thanks, Quikdraw
How can a organization like this exist? This should be illegal. The guy I spoke of is bad, I think he said he was able to place his dogs on CKC registry for $25 each.
But the Chickapoo that was registred for $450.00 is out right robbery. Thats just taken advantage of the unknowning public. Its out right fraud, its a Con job and in my oppinon these crooks should be arrested.

Your corrections wouldn't be so damn intimidating if you didn't quote that Al Eyensten guy all the time.
I just heard about the CKC and wondered what it was all about. Thanks for the information
