I think taking the dog to the humane society yourself would be a good idea. If animal control won't do anything, pack him up and haul him off. I have done that in the past with strays. I just can't shoot someones dog, it's not the dogs fault. I just ended up calling animal control on my neighbor the second time for leaving his dogs loose who corner my 11 year old on the road barking and growling. He has a huge malemute and some mixed breed. They cornered me once and I had to throw rocks to get them to leave me alone. Ya know what the owner says, well, if they bite someone then he'll put them down  Unreal.....so meanwhile he lets them terrorize people.
I'm going for the pocket-book! Small claims court for the cost of the window, vet costs for my bitch if required, loss of wages incurred and the cost of replacing the dog for the winter, etc.
The guy has a good job and just left a msg sounding so surprised and apologetic (had just been contacted by the by-law enforcement officer -
who likes working dogs and is behind me 100 percent) The sad part of it is the dog is at heart a good dog (sheperd-border collie X) and in the hands of a responsible owner would be a very nice, trainable dog. To heck with shooting the dog - I'd like to plug the owner but that is kind of frowned on even in this settle-it-yourself neck of the woods. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
At least he's got a good job, alot of times these people usually don't have anything to get from their pocket book. And some of these people I've noticed hang out in the jailhouse like we frequent the local supermarket. Fortuately this isn't one of those cases.
Same thing happened to our female the first heat, since then we have put up an electric fence with an extremely hot output and crate her whenever we are not home, ... the male that roams free hits that several times an hour at first then eventually learns... till next season.
Tiggy, get yourself some pepper spray and hose the dog down the next time he comes by, it won't do any permanent harm but he will remember and stick his head on the ground and start running (Pretty funny sight actually), do this about two times and your problem should be solved, we do this at work periodically.
Also on the broken window, which side did the glass fall on?
A few quotes from the second page
"No pyometras were seen when the ECP was given during estrus."
"The treatment was 100% efficacious when administered during estrus."
"Dog breeding must always be done by a dog lover, it can not be a profession." -Max v Stephanitz
