What is your opinion on what scores you would want a puppy to have if...and or what breed ie czech, west etc. you would look for.
1. you wanted a family protector
2. dont want a dog that will constantly test for dominance reasons.
3. kid friendly
4. stable nerves
5. strong defense, very sketical of stranger
I know it is only a test and maybe some dont apply to the above attributes, and maybe some are mutually exclusive.
Find a good breeder, who has a lot of puppy experience and detail what your needs and capacity to train are. Then, said breeder, can choose a pup for you.
Tests are good for fleshing out the breeders already formed idea of the pups temperament or for the person that is choosing his own pup from a litter. The numbers have meaning, but I think the overall time spent observing the litter is a more important. Pups do weird stuff on weird days, maybe the little bada$$ pup had a tummy ache on test day and scored all 3s.
Just my opinion. . .I mean you can read the test results just like anybody else and see what the writers of the test suggest. Maybe mostly 2s and 3s would be a good call??
Is it true to say that a male pup that is put on its back and resists(not fearful) is going to give me dominance problems? I guess it is easier to tell which has steady nerves, but I am trying to avoid dominance problems where my wife and kids are concerned.
What about lines? are czech better or worse than west...
