Well.. when I was a kid, I used to drop a couple in a bucket of water.. this "balloons" them up.. I would then take 'em out and swirl them around and throw them at people..

Sorry to rain on your parade Ringsport... In all the sets of ears I have taped I have NEVER had a problem with ear infections in the manner which you descibe. Upright ears don't get into water bowls. Not to mention the cotton part of the tampon is removed and more than enough air can circulate to prevent ear infections if taped properly.
