My pup is doing great!
We have one foul, gross, toxic, leave the room problem, his farts.
I'm in the process of changing his food.
Any other ideas?
Art
Wet dog food (canned) stays in the stomach of a dog for 4 hours.
Semi-moist dog food stays in the stomach for about 6 to 8 hours.
Dry dog food stays over 10 hours.
Enzymes are what a dog needs to digest their food, the harder the food is to digest, the longer it will remain in the stomach. Also the longer it is in the stomach the more the dogs body will have to ask other organs for more enzymes to digest the food.
Thus, my conclusion is that the longer the food is in the belly the more gas the dog will have. So switching to an all natural *BARF* diet would be the ideal way to go. It is easy to digest and causes less gas. Ed has info on this on his site.
