Hi I do search and rescue but alot of what we need for a sar dog is the same as for bite work. I was hoping some more experienced dog handlers I can help Ricky and I. He will go from manic drive and do a great long search with multiple victims. Then I put him away pull him out to work again and the intensity will just be gone. Last week I did start holding him by the chest to release him to search instead of putting back on his harness and run him back to the crate instead of play after a problem. We also had victims runaway into a hole after each site he loved that.Rather than having to search for them he got to run after them and immediately get the toy. Any other drive suggestions? He's a young healthy dog when he's really working his drive is great, never had a dog turn on and off like this he has me a little befuddled.
