After the decline of the GSD as a workingbreed compared to the malinois there is a new organization here in Sweden to restore the quality of the GSD as a workingdog. As in germany the S.V here in Sweden have been more intressted in showdogs than workingdogs, but now some breeders are feed up with the lack of intresst in working GSDs.

I think this new organization could be very helpfull for breeding better GSDs suited for service or sport in my country. The organization are supported by knowledgeable geneticist and the police, and also have seminars about training, health issues and so on in the breed. The new organization now have about 40 kennels as members, if the breed should improve there must be many breeders who work for a common goal and cooperation between themselves. The lack of GSDs suitable for policework have been aparent since the state stopped breeding GSDs here for a while ago, there is a great demand for at least one stock of quality workingdogs to support the need for servicedogs. I hope this new organization can imrove the character and health in the GSD here.
