Just took the new pup to the vet and she noticed the hernia, not big but says if I want to breed her will need surgery. Not sure I believe this, it's not big at all. Also new pup has rageing bladder infection, breeder says that could be from the stress of the flight, still wondering about that. Also pup has coccidiosis, this breeder admits too. sorry does not cover $200.00 VET BILL. Should I worry about the hernia?
Isn't this a replacement puppy? Does your contract give you a refusal period? Did you take the pup to the vet right away?
Coccidia is not uncommon in pups, but did I understand you in that you are saying the breeder knew and did nothing? That is whacked. Puppies can die from that if they dehydrate...
I don't know who you bought from, but this sounds like a crappy replacement deal. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
So far as the flight being the cause... ok, sure... maybe that is something that *could* be the cause, but my pup was in transit 20 hrs when he was shipped over, and was fine other than a little jet lag....
yes this was the replacement pup, and breeder knew about the coccodiosis but thought that it should be gone by shipment time. if the pup needs surgery for a bladder stone i'm going to ask that they take her back or pay for it. I'm getting tired of messing with this.
Kim, if I were you I would be very careful about ever hoping to breed this dog. Maybe the pups were just kept in awful conditions, but after my Auster experience I won't risk it again. She had a bladder infection as a pup and coccidia, then giardia. It was the first symptom of her dysfunctional immune system (made worse by the vet giving every vaccine made). She has pannus (autoimmune scarring of the cornea), and she is prone to infections. Right now she has a yeast infection in her ear and she has to be on medications frequently for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. PM me if you would like more info.
