I wasn't quite sure how to post a reply to everyone at the same time so I posted a new one, if this is wrong someone email me and tell me how!!!neelradmerp@shearfab.com...As far as what collar it was it was just a regular slip chain. As far as the motivation training goes, I learned that lesson on my own, that is why the use of the slip collar came into it in the first place. Toby is just really about 4 1/2 months, and I was fortunate to learn this lesson before it was to late. I was just doing the sit/down/walk on leash with the flat collar because he responded well to it, in the beginning that is. Now that he is bigger and more stubborn he decided that he will do as he pleases which I am putting a stop too. If the slip collar isn't enough, then yes, I would use the pinch collar as I did with my other dogs in the past that needed it. And I am not stupid enough to try and put it over his head!!hahaha..So back to my question. I just never had a puppy put up such a fuss over a slip collar before. If I hadn't had him since 8 weeks, I would have thought someone hurt him with one at one time because he was so "crazy" about it. So with that in mind, should I keep it on him at all times when supervised until he is used to it? And
since he is so afraid of it how long should I wait until I use it for corrections? Thanks again for your help. DAR
