My father-in-law is coming this weekend, and he hasn't been down to my house since my GSD was about 4 months old. When they first met unfortunately I was not home-our babysitter was, and he kicked and hit him-enough that the babysitter became so upset she called me at work and asked that I come home immediately. I did! And found out that my GSD had done nothing more than friendly greet him, no bark, no growl-but yet got the living sh^t kicked and slapped out of him because he scared the a$$hole-in-law by coming running to him and jumping on him.
So now when they meet again this time I am afraid of my GSD being aggressive toward him-and I can't blame him...maybe a good bite will teach the man a lesson, they definately will not be left alone together, not even for a second....but how should I handle the situation should aggression arise? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I'd be surprised if your dog reacts aggressively to this guy after only one experience, especially if it was a long time ago and you've given him plenty of pleasant socialization experiences since. However, regardless, your father in law obviously isn't going to appreciate the dog this time either, so keep them separated. Put the dog in his kennel if you own one, or out in the yard, or in his crate, or in a separate room. Don't tempt fate by seeing if they will get along this time.
I love that idea Todd <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> I wish I could

I have always wanted to put a little Eau D'Estrus
on people who annoy me and then turn a male loose. Preferably the male rottie that lives here... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
(for those that don't know what it is, it is a synthetic that makes the wearer smell like a bitch in season, usually used for collecting males when there isn't a bitch in heat available)
