HI all. I have a six month old Rottweiller puppy who has lost her tongue due to fence fighting and I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of any sort of prosthetic device or something that can help her. Right now she is on antibiotecs and we are keeping her indoors during the day because we live in Texas. She has learned to eat and drink by putting her head up in the air and letting the water run down her throat and bolting her canned dog food with her head up. My grandchildren have become very attached to her and I don't want to have her put down if I can avoid it. Any help would be appreciated. Alison Young
I know of an international level agility BC that lost his in a paper shredder. Learned to eat and drink same way and is still doing fine, years later. They have to watch out for overheating since panting is not no longer an option for cooling himself.
