Yesterday I took Linck (Sitor vom Leerburg-my Itor son) to work with a helper for the first time. I have done the Drive, Focus and Grip work and also tried to prepare him for the helper myself as will be outlined in the new release from Leerburg video. (Preparing your dog for the helper)
I brought my tug and bite pillow out to the field when it was my turn and was shocked when my helper came out of the blind with a trial arm on...the dog did super!! He could not have done any better.
This was the first dog that I have raised with this method and I have to say it really paid off. My dog is now ready to do real bitework, all the mechanics are there from the little bit of playing I have done for the last 8 months...
Of course the genetics are great, thanks Ed for such a nice dog. I now have the motivation to track more often and get going on my obedience...
I can't wait to work with Bernhard in October!
Ed has a photo from yesterday on the Table of Contents and I will be adding some to Linck's page later today!!
Great pictures of Linck. Looks like he's on his way..wish I could say the same thing about his sister <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> errr..... We'll be looking for you and Linck at the 2005 Nationals
