I have been trying to get hooked up with a trainer in CT for Schutzhund work. I have heard of a guy named John Henkle. Anyone have any feed back on this guy?
He owns / runs von Wilhendorf kennel and does conformation GSD show dogs. There are two...John M. and John E....I think John M. is the father. He will advertise ocassionally in the SchH USA magazine and maybe in Dog World...he is, in fact the leading kennel in US conformation dog wins over the last 10yr. His website comes up with a "Welcome" and nothing else. I know nothing further.
John's club is for John's dogs. There are a couple of groups in the area, I would visit several then decide.
Naugatuck Valley Police and SchH Assoc used to be a good all-breed group. I haven't visited them in a while though so I can't say for sure if they still are.
Thanks for the reply's. I have made contact with Nagautuck and will check them out. I had talk to several different people about Henkle. Some swore up one side and down the other. Others had said that he was one of the best Sch trainers in the area. New to Sch I'm not sure who is what. I have several of Ed's tapes and have been laying the foundation with these. My pup is getting the to size/ ability where I believe he is about ready to go onto a sleeve. I just dont what someone to screw him up.
thanks again for the in put.
