my uncles GSD just died a few weeks ago from something..that they dont know what it is, about 20 dogs in his town of around 20k people have died, from the same thing, just one day they keel over and die..his boss' dog died a few days later after his and they got it autopsyed and the heart was "gone" something destroyed/ate his heart..and it wasnt anything like heartworms or anything theyve seen before
any inputs on this? it isnt limited to just big dogs, small, or any breed, so alot is up in the air
Vampire cats? I hear cats and dogs don't get along. . .
Really, I don't think this something that you are going to find a good answer for on a dog training discussion board. Go talk to your local vets and municipal animal authorities.
yea i figured that, i was just trying to see if anyone has ever heard about it..and the problem is, no vets know..so thats why i thought id ask here and get a less narrowsided view, but yea, thanks
Then the vets should communicate if there are several cases and send off tissue samples to a vet school lab for analysis - if it is not heartworm, but some other environmental or natural cause and there are that many cases - it could be something that should be checked further.
