My neighbor is driving me nuts. I walk about 4 miles a day and I take my 9mos. old GSD with me my next door neighbor also has a an agressive female GSD that has had alot of problems surgery and always sick so I have tried to make a point of keeping my dog away from hers. My dog is very social with people and other dogs because she has grown up with my daughters english bulldog. It seems as though whenever I head out for my walk or I'm comming back she's out there just so these dogs run into one another. My dog just wants to play and her dog wants to fight it seems as though my dog doesn't understand this. Last night was the kicker she must have watched me leave my house it was dark out and she comes strutting down the street with her dog off leash and the next thing I know as i'm trying to cross the street her dog is doing a circle around us everything got out of control I almost fell on butt and she couldn't stop her dog from doing this.I got away from there as quick as I could but my dog isn't ready for this kind of distraction. I need advise PLEASE!!!
My first thought would is to knock the crap out of the owner for behavior as such and shoot the dog.
BUT, instead of going to jail - I would contact the other dog owner personally - if that doesn't work - have your attorney write them a letter - put it plain and clear - if the behavior doesn't stop - you are going to press formal charges against the owner of the dog, then have the dog put down for being vicious. I would contact your local enforcement and just give them a heads up.
This day and age of publicity about vicious dogs and irresponsibile owners are well known.
I'm with Mark on this one i would talk with ur neighbor about it if they are not willing to help then pursue other means as a restraining order <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> maybe .lots of people think they know how to raise/train dog but in reality few do thats someones emote on this board and its 100% true. just hang in there and avoid the neighbors dog i am in your shoes also tring to keep my neighbors dog away from my 10 week old pup when im letting her out in my front yard its frustrating.
The more people that I meet, The more I like my dogs
