Low excitement and prey thresholds with Pike, but that can be a upside as well as a downside. Might have to do with the fact that my girl was mostly kennel raised, but she just has WAY too much drive to live in the house and hang out with the kids.
She is a little dominate, which I attribute to the Mink side but it isn't directed at me. She actually really just worships the ground I walk on. Very different than my Czech dogs have had. She is also pretty serious, she isn't very nicey nicey with the people in my office.
I am breeding her to a stud in Germany this October. Linebreeding is Karlo 3-3 and Mink 3-4. She is 5x SchH III, IPO III, LGA (placed well) and an excellent protection dog, she puts most males to shame.
I like Karlo and hope to get his working traits which I see in my girl.
If I had to say who was Karlo's best producing son right now I would say Pike von der Schafbachmühle. I've seen a few Pike sons and daughters and I liked them all.
In fact I don't think I have ever seen a dog that came down from Karlo that I didn't like.
Pike is 91 and the dam is 83 - and her hips are "a" normal, elbows clear too...averaging gives her an 87 - rough I know...her SchH1 scores were pretty good - don't remember how old she was when she did the 1 - she was 2 in January and had it when I bought her in April...
She has no Fero or Mink - but the male she is bred to is a Jago Lindenhall son from a Troll daughter. Hopefully, I can train her and finish her to a 3 after she gets here <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

We had Ron for the last couple years of his life, and he was a super dog. Very tough, certainly one of the toughest dogs I have ever met. Loads of drive. Rather dominant and a bit handler hard. He was good with people and an easy dog to live with, but was not a dog to take crap from anyone.. including his handler.
I have a Ron son, raised from a pup to SchH3. All the drive you could ask for, very social and totally sound in the nerves. Strong fight in protection, hits like a freight train and has full, very hard grips. Very flashy in obedience. He is also a very hard, tough dog, but like the Ron son mentioned above is not a hard dog to handle. He's an easy dog to live with, a 24/7 house dog who sleeps on the bed and gets along super with cats and kids. Then come training time he explodes. We couldn't be happier with him, and thus far he seems to be reproducing himself rather well in his pups.
Overall, the Karlo line is one that I like to see in a pedigree as I've had very good results with these dogs.
