As long as she IS healthy, physically fit, and has not been over-bred (having a litter at every heat cycle), then she should be OK. It really sounds like the problems she had with her last litter was from 1 or 2 large pups which can happen with ANY bitch no matter the age. I agree that the overall soundness of the dog should be considered first here since she is NOT geriatric. Just keep an extra close eye on her and work with your vet closely. There may be things you can do to help her labor be easier for her; or your vet may be able to determine if there are large pups again and schedule a c-section ahead of time.
