I'm picking up my new pup this weekend and of course I'm very excited. We've monitored him over the last four weeks and he's been exceptional. Did very well when testing him and he comes from strong working bloodlines. He is to be my competition dog in schutzhund (hopefully). All looks promising.
To my question: I'd like to train him soley in German. I'm aware of the the typical Schutzhund commands but I'd like to go a step beyond that. Words like: Back, slow, go play, come (informal), turn, right, left, watch me, o.k., relax, calm...Does anyone know German or where I can get a good translation? I purchased a dictionary (way confusing) and not even certain if I'm accurately stating the correct phrase. I've looked online as well but again without knowing I could be stating the phrase wrong.
not the greatest in german but here is a close break down.
BACK / zuruck / zoo-rick
SLOW / langsam / lung-sum
play / spiel / spc-ill
turn / drehen / dre-in
right / rechts/ ray-chts
left / links / links
watch / / bus-ouf
relax / erschassen / s-shart en
calm / ruhit/ roushe
hope its close

I dont think that this site has ALL of the commands you are trying to find but i found it very helpful as far as pronunciation goes... when you click on the command it will pronounce for you. Congrads on the new pup- hope all works out great!!!
Hi
that sounds a little bit funny to me and i assusme the confusion would be completet for the dog if you would expect that he understands a command by the try of the German pronunciation.
As you are talking about a puppy i think it s easyer to get it used to your commands.
Also the intension for a dog to do something isnt only the verbal command.
