If that's Molly Graf's kennel, I think you could buy from her in confidence. She's been an up-and-comer in SchH for a while now, and she's doing well at things like the HOT trials. Her dogs have adequate drives to do the work, and were attractive to my eye. Also, I've never heard anybody speak ill of her, which is pretty rare in the SchH world.
That being said,
*Always* get a contract in writing and read it *carefully*. Make sure that their return policy is one that you can live with. Ask the breeder to provide references.
That's just common sense advice from buying from any breeder.
Molly and her Handler-Owned-Trained-and-Bred working line GSD Eagle vom Eichenluft placed second in the AWDF IPO3 National Championship last weekend, so they will be representing America in the FCI IPO3 World Championship in Europe later this year.
In a championship trial where 1/3 of the dogs failed tracking, and another 1/3 of the dogs had low passing tracking scores in the 70's, Eagle scored High Tracking with a 98. This wasn't "luck of the draw" either. I saw the track. The tracking coordinator told me that this was the toughest tracking field of any of the flights up to that point, and all of the tracking conditions were difficult in this championship. Dry patchy grass, with a lot of dead grass and onion grass, and almost no moisture on the ground. As the tracking judge ominously said at draw night "I saw the tracking fields. You don't need luck. You need a good dog".
Molly said she can't credit her training because Eagle was a breeze to train in tracking due to his high natural tracking drive. He's a consistent strong tracker. So if it's scentwork and overall balance you're talking about, I think Molly's dogs are *way* better than "adequate".
