Dave Mack Webboard User Reg: 08-26-2003 Posts: 19 Loc: Offline	Hell all Jess my Rottie started bleeding at ten months old to the day, this lasted for about 3 weeks, (march 28 -to- april 17 .) But she is still very swollen and its 5 weeks. Could anyone please tell me if this is normal. I thought it lasted for 3 weeks, but with this being the first gave her the benafit of the doubt. Or may she have an infection ? there is no discharge , of any colour. Or 1 thing that i havent come across yet is a fantom pregnancy. I thought the swelling went back to normal at the end , and she has not been near any other dogs. Just a little worried thats all, incase it may be serious .........Thanks ......Dave

But, when my 3 yo first came into heat (she waited until she was 13 months old!) the bleeding lasted for 4 weeks! Her heats have been normal and on schedule since then. I think that the first heat can sometimes be a little abnormal. But again, it never hurts to ask the vet!
