Hope this topic continues here, so will give it a try. I'd argee with Lou on the plcement of the bites, and the need for decoys to learn to do so. I actually taught a abreviated lecture/seminar to the Los Angeles Police Canine Association on the subject and then a night or two later at LAPD K-9. It does take some getting used to when targeting high chest, armpit, shoulder. lat or tricept bites. IMO they are CRITICAL to a PSD. By not teaching the body, you eliminate most of your target. Would you only take your powerboat out into a olympic sized pool if the ocean was on the same block? By not teaching the body, you limit the dogs ability. There are numerous other reason to teach the body and not the outside of the arms(sleeve). Teaching decoys to do this does take a little bit of time, and some courage until they become comfortable with it. It is important to use dogs that are capable and comfortable doing this type of bite so you are only dealing with the human aspect of the training. A dog who works solid on the body and bites high cleanly is one of the best tools for teaching it to decoys.
