Christmas for what its worth when you have a family member in a war zone came late - today I got a CD filled with photos that Jeff took - some great photos - I have started to put them on a web page http://leerburg.com/baghdad2.htm
I will rework some of the top photos when I have a minute to get them to be a little crisper. As time permits I will add the other photos - I have some really nice ones.
When I add photos I will announce it on this thread.
Nice pics! Looks like the typical wet & cold Iraqi Winter. I wouldn't worry about him losing too much weight since the 82nd is only scheduled for a 90 day or so rotation. In my 12 months I lost 10-12 from stress, hot weather, crappy food, etc. Can't believe the food in the Green Zone is bad because in 04 the food was better there than in Tikrit and a hell of a lot better than when I was in An Najaf. If you're willing to spend a couple of bucks out of pocket you can always buy pizza & burgers, etc in the Green Zone or over at Victory. Be thankful he's where he's at and not in Baqubah, Bayji, or Raamadi. Tell him all of us that have been there before are keeping them in our thoughts, prayers, etc all the time. Also, remind your son to stay alert (90 days is not enough time to learn all the in's & out's) and to always listen to his NCO's. I'm sure this won't help you not worry but I found it was 98% the opposite of what you see on the news.
