How do you tell that nice, polite old man that he can't pet your cute wriggling puppy? I've been taking Cheza out for walks more often and find I have to steer away from people all the time because of the looks I get ("Oh what a sweet puppy! I'll pet her if she passes by!"). But some I still can't avoid and they just go nuts over her, and vice versa. Do you guys have to take some sort of anger medication to get the guts to say "Hell no!" and yank your pup away from the nice person's general direction?
Tell them your pup has a fungus disease and you don't want anymore people getting that nasty, smelly rash. It was so hard to get rid of the last 2-3 times. Then start scratching your butt.
Actually, that MIGHT work! She has a swirl on top of her head that's caused by how the fur grows but looks like it could be fungus-caused...
Or I could always just cover her in poo. (Of course last time we went to the vet's she was in this state, more or less, and some guy started hugging her and kissing her and I was secretly gagging while watching).
Put a dab of hand cream on top that swirl and tell them it's ointment.
Personally, I take the meds to KEEP from telling the nice people to #$%& off.
I always told people that my dogs were undergoing specialized training and could not be touched by anyone other than myself. If they asked what kind of training I'd say "Now you know if I tell you that I'll have to kill you?" and walk away.
Yeah, that sounds pretty rough! Good luck on that one. Make sure you keep your eyes on your puppy instead of the girls and everything will be OK.
Mr. Earth Dog, I just love your answer! Best one I've ever heard. Shall definitely remember this one!
