It is disturbing to see the results of irresponsible owners time and time again, it is hard to see as the owner of two Pits. My joining this forum was for help with an animal dominance issue I have with my female, there is SO much help and information here....but these terrible acts by irresponsible people make it difficult for me to walk my dogs prime time without someone getting hysterical or calling the police....now I walk them at 5 am or after the sun goes down, don't get me wrong I am glad to do this, I love my animals and am willing to do what ever it takes to keep them safe and others around them safe, it is my responsibility since I have selected this type of dog to own. Just remember the Pit breeds have a tremendous capacity to adore their owners and be loving and happy companions as well as natural protecters....but my feeling is this, if you own a Pit (a chase dog by nature) and let it run, you should go to jail - even if it doesn't hurt anyone. If you own a Pit and allow that dog to injure another dog or human because you refuse to be resonsible then you should pay by sacrificing your dog and your time in prison. There is no going back once this type of damage occurs and EVERY dog owner - Pit or any breed, knows this....this isn't rocket science <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
