I'm having problems contacting anyone from greentripe.com
Has anyone had any recent or past problems ordering from these guys? I have sent an e-mail requesting clarification on their shipping rates "which make no sense to me." Can someone figure out what the cost would be to ship something to Kansas?
I was wondering if something was wrong. Boy I'll tell you that even mentioning the word fresh tripe to a butcher around here makes there hair stand up. It's all but impossible to get any. They also told me to be careful about buying the stuff in can's if I wanted raw tripe. They said that in order to can it they have to cook the stuff. Not sure how much cooking and canning the tripe would mess with the "for lack of a better word" purity, bioavailability, nutrient content of the tripe. I think the canned stuff is called Trippet. I forget who makes it.
I've been hearing about tripe so often...do you really need it? And is the canned stuff that bad? I add a bit to my dog's food mixed with water and the supplements as a kind of 'gravy' to flavour the I'm sure tasteless chicken meat.
148.00 is what was quoted for shipping 30lbs of tripe to Kansas City, ie, from the company Jeannette was talking about. Nice people but hey who can afford those shipping prices? Damn, I getting frustrated..........
Can anyone lead me to another less costly source? Do I need to go to the Trippett or Green Cow brand of canned tripe?
I found another webside yesterday that sells green tripe and all kinds of other stuff. I don`t know how good it is, never ordered from it but i will place an order next week. This is the only place i have come across where the shipping doesn`t seem too bad, off course i have only one dog and don`t need that much. web page
I have delt with greentripe.com for some time now and i can only say good things about the company. I know they were going through some problems with there distributors and that caused a delay in producing the tripe. I believe the shipping is more due to greentripe being raw food (frozen) and it has to be shipped sooner and in a special delivery truck. My dog loves the stuff and I recommed greentripe to all our club members.
I do have a question about green tripe if someone could please answer it. I`m very new to feeding raw and haven`t been able to get any green tripe yet. I was wondering, do you feed green tripe instead of a chicken thigh for example or do you add it to the meal? And how often should you feed it, every day or less?
