I have a four year old female GSD who has been urinating upon entering my house. It usually happens just after letting her in from outside. It does not happen all of the time. It has happened maybe five times in the course of two months. It is usually a few table spoons, although the other night it was a full bladder empty.
She is not a timid dog. Pretty much has Sch I training. She has been fixed (what is the term?). I made a big mistake and scolded her for the large episode. I am new to the protection dogs and am not used to correcting dogs on leash when training. I am just worried that I am making her fearful of me. By the way what is the correct amount of pressure when you are applying a correction, on leash. I don't use a prong or a choke, just a regular two inch wide leather collar.
Also, the proper correction varies from dog to dog, so you have to know your own dog to administer it the way you should. For instance, my dogs are handler-sensitive, if I just raise my tone they immediately comply. Anyway, I recall a frequent saying here that I'd like to repeat to you: "One good correction is better than a thousand nagging ones." So if your dog isn't listening, time to bring up the level of the correction.
