Well, since it's not pyometra, I guess it's a moot point, but my initial decision was to spay her...period. However as a co-owner on a breeding contract I didn't have that right to make the decision on my own. But since it is only a mild local infection I can't really make any argument towards breaking the contract to spay her.
Yes, I learned my lesson the hard way...no more breeding contracts.
Your point is one of the reasons I questioned both breeding her and the possibility that this was not pyometra. If it was...don't breed her. But because of what great shape she is in, was it really pyometra? And turns out it's not, so good deal.
Her low grade fever and odor went away less than 24 hours after first dose of antibiotics.
