I don't think he's been bred that many times since he's been over here. Kinda like Rene Anrebri, very selective and very few litters (Annie also used to own Rene, still co-owns Brit). Without being a super high profile dog like a lot of the "big name" sport dogs (or being handled by a big name trainer) or being from the current "trend lines", you don't really hear about a whole lot of litters from some really good dogs.
I have a Brit & Verona male from the first breeding....still less than 2 years old. He's got good drive & is very stable....currently beginning protection work. He's a good sized (85 to 90lbs), dark pigment, dense coat. Very well balanced dog, and worth the $$. Will Beattie is a nice guy to work with....I put money down on this breeding before it took place, so I had lots of contact with him. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him on this breeding.
Caren,
I have a deposit down on a Brit x Verona male.Im happy to hear from someone who has one.Brit had some civil aggression.Does your dog show any civil tendencies yet?Have you worked with him much on drive building exercises?Just curious.
Hi, Greg...
My dog is still fairly young...he'll be 2 in the middle of July. He does show very nice prey drive, and is crazy for a hard rubber ball...will chase it until he falls down! He has civil tendencies, but is not stupid with it...mostly he ignores people and other dogs until they start staring at him (which happens quite a bit because of the way he looks)...then he'll stare back & give them a "woof". All in all, when he's grown, he'll have a very nice balance to him. If Cain is anything to go on, the puppies from Brit X Verona should be well rounded, and useful in a variety of areas.
I had the priviledge of working with my sons dog that was out of the Brit z Elisu over Dany Ple-mir breeding. That dog will probably never be titled as my son lost interest but it was an exceptional dog. Super drive, super focus on the handler. Loved to work. What a joy. He would have been a wonderful addition to the Brit progeny. Guess you will just have to take my word for it.
FYI; saw your post and the name of Jet. Saw Jet a few months ago when I attended a tracking seminar in NC. He is with Wake COSO, NC. Got to see Jet work a little (obedience, a short track and bite a decoy). One of Jet's pups just sold within last few months, but do not know where he went. Photo of pup (Marco) with brief description can be seen at website (Ventosa Kennels), thought you might be interested in the info even though your post was some months old.
