Has anyone used the vinyl nail covers for dogs/cats called Soft Paws or Soft Claws? Not really a dog question, but I have a cat that claws everything, including the mother-in-law's new couch (big no,no!) I was wondering if they fall off easily or if anyone has had bad experiences? Oh yeah- do they even work? I am about to wring her little kitty neck!

I tried them on a past dog over a decade ago. Unless they've improved the technology of those nail covers, I wouldn't bother with them, because they were none too effective.....
They worked pretty well for us until the cat chewed them off. I think the bitter apple and slip cover approach is better for the cat. Most cats I`ve seen hate the soft claws.
Try providing a large scratching post rubbed with catnip too.

I've used them on both the cat and the dog. I never had a problem with them. I figured my cat would try to chew them off, but he didn't. Of course, before applying them, you have to have the nails trimmed anyway, but they DO work once on.
I use them on the dog's nails now to help her get traction on the linoleum floor in the kitchen. lol
