NO, No, that is not what I mean, after I was reading the post and replies I seen that most of the advice was to hone the prey drive since the pup showed good prey drive. That would be good to do if you were not looking for a real life pp dog, I said, "if all of it's training from here on out is Prey, you will have a true sport dog." I was meaning that if as the dog grows you never work the dog in defense, because the dog can't handle defense then, the dog will be strictly a sport dog, (and always a step away from being run off). I was attempting to let him/her know that if you plan to persue PP with this dog it can't be worked soley in prey forever, and to not be fooled into thinking his dog will be a pp dog because it bites the sleeve, or even the suit.
Good info to point out if Gene,he, is new to the whole idea of PP dogs. I would recomend that it be a while before the dog be put into actual defense. If the dog has some nerve issues and is hopefully going to be a PP dog only someday I would(working in prey for now) spend alot of time on leg bites as opposed to sleeve bites. All four feet on the ground can be helpful in building confidence in a dog with "some" nerve issues.IMO.Ofcourse if the dog aint got it, it aint got it but if there is a chance its got it then maybe go that way.
Stop making excuses for your dog and start training it!
