Sounds good Jason. Remember the baby steps. One more thing. Even our most expierienced dogs start each live find training sessiion with a simple, visual runnaway. It realy kicks their drive in gear. Not that they need it.

Bob is right. Baby steps is the way to go. When transitioning to blind problems with both my dogs, I found that doing a runaway, then a blind problem and then a runaway worked really well. The first runaway let the dog know what it was out there for and the runaway after acted like a reward for the dog. It also reinforces the refind sequence if you're doing a refind.

You make a good point; starting with a runaway makes sense irregardless of the age of the dog. It also makes sense to work on foundation at each practice. I am trying to move as slowly as necessary with Alex's training while still challenging him with each session.
