They never said where the two dogs came from, my understanding is it's a genetic thing, the two dogs may have even been litter mates which would explain it. But, wow talk about bad luck. To lose two dogs in the same training class really sucks.
When I here the term "coincidence" a red flag goes up for me.I would look really hard at the dogs diet and feeding routine when and how they eat.Genetics could play a role but for me there is no such thing as a coincidence or a fluke when something like that happens.There is a cause or a reason for it IMO.
The 2 dogs are not related and they weren't in the same class. Dakota died in 2004 after working the streets since 2002 his new dog Cody was in this class and is still healthy.
I'm not sure what there diets were but remember train alot of dogs and in the many years of training these are the only 2 cases .
