I was farting around on pedigreedatabase.com as I like to do when I'm bored ourt of my mind. Came across a pregnant bitch for sale and I noticed the ad said that she was guaranteed to OFA. Immediately this put me off and then I noticed that the bitch is not even 2 years old yet. I was under the impression that this is a big no-no.
Care to enlighten this newbie?? I'm trying to learn something new every day lol.
This is my bitch Enza. My male Hardy got to her when I thought he was picking up on Oxana still (who is titled and 'a' stamped). I would do her hips if she was 2 months older and 2 yrs old but OFA doesn't allow it. He got to her one time, but once unfortunately is all it takes. Crucify me if you will, but mistakes do happen. At least I'm willing to stand by her hips passing instead of saying it's your problem to find out. I have her xrays taken from her previous owners at my vet, as well as ones I took on her right after he bred her. Take your pic. Now if your interested, let me know, otherwise don't judge what you have no idea about. If you had concerns, you could've just contacted me instead of trying to crucify me.
Please - it was nothing personal at all and I am certainly not looking for any trouble. I was just wondering, as I really know nothing at all about breeding. I wouldn't have contacted you personally because I am not interested in the dog per say...more in learning.
I also was not trying to "crucify" you over something I "have no idea about", rather I was trying to learn a little something as I stated. I certainly understand that accidents happen - as I was reading about spaying/neutering, someone said "Dogs don't wear condoms"
So please do not take offense and please understand that I was not trying to start anything. I am a relatively new member to this board and I am enjoying it very much. I would hate to cause something that would jeopardize my membership here.
You can ask about anyone on this board who knows me, knows that this isn't something that typically goes on in my kennel. If she doesn't sell, I'll whelp the pups, OFA her myself and be done with it. Since I have a female due to whelp on June 20th, I really don't need another litter 10 days later!!!!!! But as they say s* happens. Now if I could legally shoot my husband for letting her out with him I would.
Thanks for not being mad...I really didn't mean anything by it.
Your hubby may want to shoot himself if you have two litters running around at the same time... OOOH the puppy teeth!!
Hips won't change in two months, if they are good they are good. I have had the accidental breeding and know that headache very well. "He seemed so lonely honey, I didn't think that he wanted to do that." What I got for dating for looks back then. At least it looks like a good match and not frisky next door the chow mix
I have her xrays from 12 months and again right after he bred her *sigh* haven't changed thankfully! Hubby has more days off then I do so he will be having to help out quite a bit. Serves him right.
