Depending on the vitamin, human vitamins won't hurt your dog. There are certain vitamins/minerals that you shouldn't give to dogs, but if you're just talking about the same vitamins that you would get from the doggie pharmacy or whatever, then there is no difference.
When my dog had demodectic mange, I used the more holistic approach to cure it. I gave her a B-complex (not high potency), Ester-C, and fish oil pill daily and a zinc twice a week for two weeks, then back to once a week. I asked the vet beforehand, and she confirmed that it was perfectly fine to get the vitamins from the K-mart vitamin secion. You don't have to buy the doggie vitamins just because they say they are for dogs - the human ones are just fine, and usually cheaper.

I give me pup, Matrix, half of 400IE VITAMIN E AND 1/4 OF 1600MG OMAGA 6-3 bought from K-MARK store. They are both human vitamin pills. My dog itches a lot...does it have to do with the vitamins I am feeding him.

Kristen, do you happen to know which ones?
I used to give my dogs a doggie multi-vitamin but then I read the label and I realized that I was paying a lot more $$ for a much lower content than a human grade equivalent. So I started giving them the same vitamins that I take.
